Caste Guidelines

1. The Blue Caste of Gor (Scribes Caste) is a group devoted to learning and sharing the knowledge of Gor to all peoples of the land. We are a self-governing group, answerable to no other Castes or single format.

2. Blue Caste Council consists of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Chairs.

3. The Caste will be governed by the Caste Council.

4. A City with at least three or more registered RBCSGor in good standing may submit the name of a Scribe for acceptance into the main Caste. A completed RBCSGor application must be submitted with the name of the scribe for review by the Caste Council.

5. Delete and restore characters are not allowed. Screen name must be active. If for any reason a SN must be deleted for a time, please let the chairs know of this prior to the deletion. The inability to send/receive Caste news is important, therefore, if a character’s screen name comes up with unable to send/deliver mail, that screen name will be deleted from the Roster after three (3) consecutive unsuccessful tries.

6. Scribes may be just one level below the Initiates but they are not perfect. There may be times that a Scribe finds himself/herself in a situation that is not appropriate behavior for a member of the RBCSGor. These types of situations may include such events as theft, murder, disrespect to a Warrior, collars, public indecency and drunken behavior. It is the consensus of the Council that these incidents should be initially brought up with the Magistrates and Leaders of the City in which the Scribe is a Citizen or visitor. Should they be found guilty, then the matter should be forwarded in the form of documentation from that City’s Administrator to the First Chair of the Scribe Caste. The First Chair would then call a meeting of the Council and present the documentation and previously handed down decision. The status of the Scribe in question would then be decided upon. All decisions are then final and the Scribe will be told of their new status in the Caste. However, if the matter is resolved within the City’s jurisdiction and no documentation is presented to the Blue Caste First Chair/The Council, then the Scribe Caste would have no decision to make, and in fact, would not even be aware of any infringement made by the character/Scribe.

7. Scribes are the Keepers of the Law. We review and make rulings on:

8. Scribes are not normally fighters; however, every man who swears to a HomeStone is expected to defend his City in times of War or Raids. We are to strive to remain unbiased and neutral in all matters and yet there may be times when in self defense or defense of his family a male scribe may have to use what skills he has; therefore, the dice for Male Scribes will follow that of the RRaMC which is 2d21, Females will remain at 2d20.

9. Since the concept of Gor is an adult theme, all muns of Scribe Characters in this Caste must be eighteen (18) years of age and over.

10. While AOLGor is based upon the books, not completely ruled by them, the RBCSGor still adheres to the basic structure laid out within them. As a result, the Caste will not allow nor recognize any female in an inappropriate role, such as Warrior, or Magistrate, (Jr. Magistrate or Assistant Magistrate is acceptable) as these are reserved for the men of Gor. They will also not allow any known outlaw into the Caste. The Caste also stands by the rule that a person can only practice/declare one Caste.

11. Home Stone is a must.

12. Only the Caste Council will have the authority to remove a Scribe from the Caste, unless prior removal by the Administrator/Magistrate of their HomeStone. First Chair will hold final decision on said removal.

Updated 12.03.07

Lets say for example, there are three (3) registered Scribes in Port Kar, a new scribe proves themselves to the Scribes Caste in Port Kar and is approved there, then with their application attached, (RBCSGor application), their name is then sent to the RBCSGor for addition to the Caste Roster and added to the list of registered Scribes for the RBCSGor.

Steps/Instructions:

Each City sets up their own RBCS City Caste of three (3) registered Scribes with the main Caste. These City Castes will be able to register their Scribes with the main Caste. New applicant goes to their City Caste and applies for their registration, with the City and the main Caste. Applicant fills out the registration form for the main Caste and submits it the City Caste. The City Caste approved or disapproved the applicant. If the City Caste approves the applicant, they forward their approval and the application to the Main Caste Chairs. The applicant is added to the Main Caste web site. Main Caste notifies the applicant, as already done, and sends the “Welcome to the Registered Blue Caste of Scribes” and, “New Members Information” scrolls and copies to their City Caste representatives. The member is required to place RBCSGor in their life scrolls for Roster verification and adherence to guidelines. If there is no City Caste to do this, or if a City does not have three (3) or more registered RBCSGor in good standing with the main Caste, then the standard application process will be followed for consideration of acceptance into the RBCSGor, with approval required by the Chairs.

c. Blue Caste and the Court System (Taken from Court Guidelines)

Head Justices shall be appointed by the Blue Caste Council. All Justices must first have served as a Judge on the Gorean Courts. If ever there is none available to move to that position, a member of the Blue Caste will be nominated by the Blue Caste collective members. All APPEALS will be handled by the High Court. This is a four member body (the 1st Justice and both of the 2nd Justices) and a Bailiff (the Bailiffs coming from a pool within the Blue Caste).  To be a Bailiff you must be a registered member of the Blue Caste as they are the law keepers.
